Description

Veteran U.S. Marine and an avid outdoorsman Jonathan McNees has a lifetime of experience using knives in the field. When he combined that hard-won insight with his skills as a custom knifemaker, one of the results was his “Killer B” folding knife—an amazingly compact everyday-carry cutting tool and the inspiration for the Spyderco McBee.

Proof positive that function is a matter of design, not size, the McBee features a saber-ground Wharncliffe blade crafted from CTS® XHP stainless steel. Its uniquely scalloped spine creates a profile that offers both scalpel-like precision and impressive cutting power. Despite its diminutive size, it is also capable of true one-hand-opening capability via its Trademark Round Hole™.

The stonewash-finished blade is paired with a handle featuring precision machined solid titanium scales. The obverse (near-side) scale has a series of skeletonizing holes, while the reverse-side scale forms the foundation of the knife’s sturdy Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism. Both scales have a handsome matte finish and are accented by McNees’ signature stippling on the lock recess and the pivot pin screw heads. A polished stainless steel hourglass clip provides right-side, tip-up carry and is backed by a lined lanyard hole for the easy attachment of lanyards and fobs.

Excellent small knife

The McBee is small, yet it feels great in the hand and is a top quality little EDC knife. Beautiful blade which stays sharp.

A little gem

The spyderco mcbee is a fantastic little knife. And I mean little, the thing is tiny. And yeah sure there are plenty of tiny knives out there but the mcbee is a truly premium option for a tiny knife. The XHP steel holds an edge like a dream and the mirror stonewash on it is really nice too.
I have slightly larger than average hands but the mcbee still feels really comfortable in hand with a solid two finger grip and the thumb on the blade spine.
One of my favourite parts is probably the dimple effect on the pivots and lockbar relief area, I love that they carried this over from the custom version and it feels and looks great.
My only complaint would be the lack of a steel lockbar insert but I don't think that is entirely necessary especially on such a small knife.
All in all its a great addition to any knife collection and a solid user that'll fit in your 5th pocket.
To top it all off, adventurecarry has provided some if the best costumer service I've ever experienced and I will definitely be back for more!

Hi Liam, thanks for reviewing your awesome little McBee. For such a small knife it, it sure is incredibly well built. Premium as you said is a great way to put it.

Appreciate the support and your time in leaving a review!

Cheers,
Mitch
