Description
Description
These are custom formulated stropping pastes developed specifically for Sydney Strop Co. to pair with the Double Sided Paddle or Mini EDC leather strops.
Low Grit Stropping Paste - Silicone Carbide special blend with a rating of about 15 micron which equates to 1,200 Grit. This blend is more abrasive and has the most cutting power. Best used on the suede side of the Cow Leather Paddle Strop.
Medium Grit Stropping Paste - Chrome Oxide special blend with a rating of about 3 micron which equates to 8,000 Grit. A perfect all rounder.
High Grit Stropping Paste - Aluminium Oxide special blend with a rating of about 0.5 micron which equates to 60,000 Grit. Perfect for achieving and maintaining a precise, polished and razor sharp edge on blades that are already sharp.
These unique blends will keep the leather strop soft and conditioned for many years.
The stropping paste must be applied to a surface in order to be used. Many surfaces can be used with compounds, leather strops being one of the most common. The compound is applied to the surface and then the edge is passed over it.
Note that stropping paste is the final abrasive used in the sharpening process. The abrasive particles are extremely small and will polish an existing edge to a mirror finish, but are not aggressive enough to bring a dull edge back to sharp. The edge being sharpened must have been taken through the finest sharpening stones before the compound is used for it to be effective.
Did we mention they're all made right here in Australia?
